The
Riddle of Life
© Alfred J. Parker(During
Mr. Parker's lifetime the reference to man and mankind
had a universal meaning that included both sexes. Today
there is much greater emphasis on identifying the
separate sexes in order to clarify their equality.
Rather than alter the original writings by changing all
such references to humans and humankind, we ask you to
interpret these references as universal terms that
include both sexes on an equal basis.)
Man and civilizations
have come and gone over the ages, and all the time man has attempted to solve the riddle of life:
whether he is a product of the age or just how closely
he is related to a power far greater than the age
itself. What is this power called by many names by
many races?
Man naturally has a sense
of superiority to all other living species because of
his analytical ability and conscious thinking which
allows him to ponder upon cause and effect and to
relate these two opposing forces. He has
created many theories and philosophies concerning life
as he sees it, but because he is what he is--only an
individual without a knowledge of the true divine or
universal principle--he sees things only with mortal
and limited vision, much like the six blind Hindus who
were trying to describe the elephant by touch; each said
what he felt which was not what others saw.
So man creates theory after theory, and as he thoroughly analyzes what
he has created, he discovers
many points he has overlooked in the first place, and is
forced to change his theory. Perhaps man will never know the whole truth because
man's mind
grows in concept as his vision broadens and he continues to correct
his mistakes. Thus does
human mind grow from a mere individual concept
influenced much through the senses and imagination, more
toward a universal mind as analysis and deduction cause
him to see the many, instead of mere self. The
ages have produced their philosophers, all of whom have
added their crumbs of wisdom to the many theories and to
the growth of human mind.
Man being what he is (the composite of two forces, the abstract or
spiritual quality of being and the mortal vehicle of
chemical and mineral elements of the earth) he naturally feels the urge to think and understand
himself, for it is the urge of the spiritual power
within to unfold the same as a plant unfolds its
flower. Man feels this natural urge to seek, but
man in his different stages of mental growth translates
this urge into many different degrees of desire,
curiosity, or intense mental hunger to understand
life. Most people become lost in the emotions
because it is the path of least resistance and very
pleasurable.
If man discovers a
basic principle through which to think and analyze, he becomes philosophical and rises above the emotional
desires and thus learns to think clearly and
logically. By the way, logic is thinking based
upon principle and is provable, factual, and as closely
approaching exact truth as is possible to conceive.
Coming back to the
subject of life in general, it represents the process of
involution and evolution: the seeding or
involutionary process of God, or the principle and
reason of being, taking material form within the limited
confines of earth life and through the human senses,
emotions, and mind.
This abstract power
called life comes into a newborn child through the
breath of life and unites the physical or finite place
to the abstract plane called spirit. Thus life is
dual, material and spiritual, in its composition.
Between the material and physical side of life and the
abstract plane of reason and cause, there is the
unifying link called mind, which feels the urges and
desires of the physical emotions and yet senses its
inner abstract power strongly urging man to see and
reason, to know himself, or to understand the true
relationship between the two planes of existence.
All our religions and
philosophies are based upon the relationship between the
body and the mind and spirit, between cause and effect
and the reason thereby--called God's Plan. It is the laws governing
this relationship of cause and effect that constitute
the natural laws, i.e., that which governs and motivates
being. It is the knowledge of, and application to,
these laws that teaches man his relationship to
nature and to the principle of reason and cause.

It has been erroneously
expressed that one cannot change human nature; but if
our intelligence, nature, desires, and characteristics
are brought into being only through language through the
attached name at birth, it stands to reason that a
change of name could completely change the individual's
nature in a reasonable length of time; this has been
demonstrated thousands of times. If one has lived
in a foreign country where names are spelt differently,
and then becomes a citizen of a country where the
spelling may be entirely different, it stands to reason
that his nature and the conditions of his life may
change completely. The same thing could happen
relative to health. It is a proved fact that every
name has a specific effect upon the body and its
functions.
Every desire, sense,
awareness, or any emotional disturbance must be
translated into intelligent reality through language;
there is no other channel: every impulse from the
mind to the brain cells must be defined through
language, even to create thought. How else could a
person's nature, characteristics, desires, and urges
come into being except through language? Any intelligent
person knows that anything of a abstract or spiritual
nature cannot be born into a person through a physical
and finite phenomenon. The physical body and its
functions are purely material and represent the quantity
angle; whilst thought, intelligence, and consciousness
express as human mind through the symbology called
language, which to life is as the notes upon the
keyboard of a piano. Mankind, through language, is
permitted to being into effect or reality all the
manifestations that comprise human
intelligence.
The giving of a name
represents the creation of human intelligence, but
through a change of name one can completely change one's
nature, one's thinking, one's actions, and one's whole
life with its associations which comprise environment
and consequently, one's every experience. How else
could human nature be changed?

OSCAR, MARIO, NOLAN, ADOLPH, HAMILTON, OMAR,
DAMON, OSWALD, CARLTON, ADOLF, DORA, SONYA, POLLA, LYNN,
JOSEPHINE, MARGARET, COLLETTE
These people are
idealistic, gentle, and romantic. They live much
within their own thoughts and find companionship in
literature, especially romance or mystery. They can so
thoroughly be absorbed in a novel that they do not hear
what is going on around them. They have great
imagination and it is not difficult for them to be a
part of the story. Sometimes because it is difficult for
them to cope with the reality of life, especially when
they are unhappy, they will read to avoid issues
rather than facing objectionable situations.
As they are extremely impressionable and easily hurt
and offended, they are hesitant when it comes to
revealing their deeper thoughts and feelings. They cry
easily despite their efforts to control this
sensitivity. They may appear reserved and aloof, but
they seek love and tenderness. Their deep affection for
and devotion to others expresses naturally in an
atmosphere of understanding. If someone misrepresents
them or makes a joke out of something important to them,
they withdraw and use silence as a method of making the
person aware of the inappropriate comments. Many times,
they feel misunderstood because not even their closest
friends really know them. Lacking confidence, they tend
to depreciate their own value and ability, yet they
could excel in creative writing or design as an outlet
for their imaginative, poetic qualities.
When they experience friendship and support from
others, they feel better about themselves. Being
self-conscious they do not like to be the centre of
attention, yet they would like to be more expressive,
outgoing, and spontaneous. Under just the right
circumstances, they can be very dramatic.
At times, there is a decidedly independent and
determined side to their natures in coping with people;
however, they dislike to witness hurt feelings and will
avoid issues.
They value the beauty and peace experienced while
outdoors away from crowds or the pressures of life.
Gently falling rain, the wind in the willows, the sounds
of birds, dappled sunlight through the trees in a
forest, many expressions of nature reach their
imaginations and help to build a sense of harmony
within. They could be drawn to the mysteries of life,
religious or philosophical concepts, to the arts, music,
or the theatre.
This name creates a sensitivity in the fluid
functions of the body and a tendency to weakness in the
respiratory organs.. Under stressful conditions, they
may experience tension in the solar plexus area.

Questions?
What's in a Name?
A name is the unique
part of language that is attached to you by your
parents. With the study of the Kabalarian Philosophy,
you will be able to reduce any name to a mathematical
formula based upon the letters in the name. This formula
is the means through which qualities of intelligence are
brought into form through the individual mind.
Once this formula is
understood, a person’s overall pattern of thinking,
including mental strengths and weaknesses is known.
Because thinking greatly influences experiences, the
formula of a name represents the mental direction, and
therefore the overall destiny.
The ramifications of the
names we use affect every aspect of our lives: how happy
we are, whom we attract as associates, whether we can
create lasting success, and whether we add to life in a
constructive way.
Why does name create
mind? The simple answer is that it just does. You could
ask why does gravity exist? It is a law of life that
relates causative forces mathematically.
To build a theoretical
understanding to this relationship takes study. To
initiate this process, consider an individual’s
personality as the composite of numerous qualities of
intelligence. These qualities express through our
aptitudes, our interests, our behavior, and our approach
to life. Some people are naturally detailed; others are
disorganized. Some are promoters; others are teachers.
Some are people-oriented; others are loners. Some are
technical; others are inspirational. Some are happy and
optimistic; others are satirically contemptuous of
others. Some are reliable; others are indifferent. Some
are intellectual; others live in their feelings. These
thinking patterns are measurable, once you have the
mathematical key.
Thinking operates using
language as its medium, and the intelligence to language
is the sequential consistency of the alphabet. A is
always in the first position, B is in the second
position, C is in the third position, and so forth. The
language we attach to our own identity is our name,
which can be reduced to a mathematical formula using the
Mathematical Principle taught in the Life Analysis
Training course. The key to translating this formula is
the understanding of the relationship of mathematics to
the qualities of intelligence.
Although it takes study
to understand the theoretical basis of the link between
name and mind, it is an easy relationship to prove. Name
Reports are offered to allow you to test the principle
with your own names. These twenty to thirty page reports
on the influence of your name on your life allows you to
test this principle on yourself.

Quote
of the Month
Those
who seek wisdom come to understand that even though the
world may reward us for wrong or superficial reasons,
such as our physical appearance, the family we come
from, and so on, what really matters is who we are
inside and who we are becoming.
